Garage Sale Weekend
Well, I decided against better judgment to have a garage sale this weekend. There is a community sale and we had to give $3 to help with the cost of advertising if we wanted to participate. We kept going back and forth whether or not we wanted to have one and 1 week before the sale we decided we were going to do it.
I didn’t get around to going through the boys things until late on Monday, which means I only had about four days to get myself prepared. We went strawberry picking on Monday which was a whole other story, and I made 9 half pints of freezer jam on Tuesday, right in the middle of garage sale stuff.
Let me just say for the record that I HATE, no I LOATHE, garage sales! I Hate getting all the stuff ready, I hate going to them, and I hate watching people rummage and bargain with someone over a ten cent item. It seems like everyone wants something for nothing. I told my dear husband that he can sit out in front and deal with the people and I will deal with the toddlers inside LOL. If I paid $30 for Gap jeans and I have them marked for $3 , then you should be a happy customer! If ya don’t like that price, try and find almost new Gap jeans for that price. Garage sales can be nice for a rare find, but to tell ya the truth, I am just not the hunt and peck type.
I hope we make some money because I am so tired and I didn’t realize how much junk I had, so I would be very appreciative of anyone who takes it off my hands. Wish us luck.

The 3.00 for jeans seems to be a typical pricing at a garage sale. Thats the nature of the game!
My advice, anything you don’t sell, donate or trash. Otherwise it all goes back into the house and accumulates again! 🙂
I have had many garage/yard sales over the years and I know about all the hard work that is required to prepare for one. Good Luck on yours. I hope you do great!
How is it going? 😀
I had a garage sale this weekend and must say that it turned out to be rather profitable and I cleared out the house. I used signs around the neighborhood and listed it online at http://www.garagesalestracker.com (Cost about $3.00 in total to advertise with the signs and markers). I must say that I didnt get haggled down too badly but the early bird most certainly did get the worm. With the leftovers that I did have I ended up sending it off to goodwill! Keep up the good work
At least I know the stuff I sold won’t be coming back into my house!
