Bachelorette Finding True Love
Does anyone watch the bachelorette? I always look forward to watching it on Monday nights even though it is hard to stay awake that late for me. I really like Jillian from the previous season of the Bachelor and felt like she was a very genuine person. I knows that television can portray people as one way or another, but I really like her.
As for the men on the show, I don’t know what to think about them and I find myself shouting to Jillian through the television that so and so is a creep or watch out for him lol. I sometimes wonder if there are any “real” people left in the world or if they are all just influenced personalities that we meet along the way. I even wonder if there is such a thing as true love? Everyone creates the fairy tale synopsis of love but I don’t think there is such a thing per say.
When you start a relationship it is always fun and new, and makes you feel on top of the world. This is where most people coin the phrase “true love” and “I think I am in love.” But after it all wears off and you are together and married it never is the same and it is up to you as a couple to recreate it. It makes you feel like you are in a simulator of sorts. I mean if you think about it, men never fart while you are dating, and then you get married and they all get a little too lax and forget about the magic that once was “true love.” I got to know the nonfarting man, so someone please tell me what changed?
I hope Jillian find someone that makes her heart go pitter pat!
Jam Packed Weekend
Well, I survived the garage sale that we had this weekend and I am truthfully pooped out. Garage sales are a lot of work, and everything seems turned upside down for the entire time you are working on it. Both of the boys were total crabby pants because they didn’t get a lot of the attention they are used to. MY house looks like a bomb went off in it. *Note the toy room* (I apologize for the crappy quality, this was taken with my little farty camera)
As you can see, the place is a disaster, and not how I like to keep house. I just look at it and I don’t care HA! My house will take a week to get back to normal, but on a positive note we made about $500, so not too shabby. I plan on having another sale this Fall, and at least everything is ready to go and priced so I don’t have to suffer through that!
After all that, I still had energy to go Strawberry picking this morning. I already went last week, and made 9 half pints of freezer jam and decided I wanted to make more. The first place we went to, was horrible for brining toddlers and they made us stick to one row with horrible berries. This new place, was awesome! They had berries as far as the eye could see and I went alone and had the field practically to myself. When I was leaving with my 10lbs of berries, there were about 60 people. I will be making this a tradition, because I can remember when my grandmother used to make jam all the time. In August, they have peaches! I love being outdoors and being out in the country.
Garage Sale Weekend
Well, I decided against better judgment to have a garage sale this weekend. There is a community sale and we had to give $3 to help with the cost of advertising if we wanted to participate. We kept going back and forth whether or not we wanted to have one and 1 week before the sale we decided we were going to do it.
I didn’t get around to going through the boys things until late on Monday, which means I only had about four days to get myself prepared. We went strawberry picking on Monday which was a whole other story, and I made 9 half pints of freezer jam on Tuesday, right in the middle of garage sale stuff.
Let me just say for the record that I HATE, no I LOATHE, garage sales! I Hate getting all the stuff ready, I hate going to them, and I hate watching people rummage and bargain with someone over a ten cent item. It seems like everyone wants something for nothing. I told my dear husband that he can sit out in front and deal with the people and I will deal with the toddlers inside LOL. If I paid $30 for Gap jeans and I have them marked for $3 , then you should be a happy customer! If ya don’t like that price, try and find almost new Gap jeans for that price. Garage sales can be nice for a rare find, but to tell ya the truth, I am just not the hunt and peck type.
I hope we make some money because I am so tired and I didn’t realize how much junk I had, so I would be very appreciative of anyone who takes it off my hands. Wish us luck.

Summer is a great time of the year for me. I love being able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather. The warm weather brings back memories of childhood and all the fun things associated with Summertime. I can remember setting up lemonade stands on the corner with the ambitious hopes of making money to buy something.
Electrolux has created virtual way to give hope in the fight against Ovarian Cancer with their Virtual Lemonade Stand contest. They are helping to raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, and everyone who logs on to the site and participates in the campaign will be automatically entered for a chance to win a new Electrolux French Door Refrigerator.
For every stand opened, Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). In addition, you canhelp the cause even more by buying and sending virtual glasses of lemonade to your friends and family, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting OCRF. Wendy’s Father’s Day Frosty Weekend

Father’s Day is right around the corner and it is a time to celebrate families. I know it will be a day to remember Dad but I think it is a day that encourages families to celebrate each other. On the flip side of that, there are many children who don’t even have a family to celebrate with, and are in need of a place to be.
For the past three years, Wendy’s has made it a Father’s Day Frosty Weekend tradition to donate 50 cents from the sale of each Frosty to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The money raised goes to the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program, which funds full-time adoption recruiters at local agencies across the U.S., who pair up parents with foster care children needing homes. So, you and your family can enjoy a Frosty and help out a child find a loving home. Frosties are one of our favorites in this house, so we will have no problem helping out!
You can also involve your own children in this great cause by having them create a fun Father’s Day eCard on FrostyCard.com. For every card they send, Wendy’s will donate an additional 25 cents to the Dave Thomas Foundation. Kids can attach coupons for “taking out the trash” or “washing the car” onto the cards for Dad. I think this is a terrific way to teach your child appreciation for the things they have in life and be able to help out a child that is less fortunate. It involves them, teaches them the value of giving, and they get to remember Dad.
I cant think of a better way to spend time with your family while helping to create a permanent place to call home for a child in need of a family. A frosty is a great way to have a fun day out for Father’s Day while helping make a difference. Thank you Mom Central and Wendy’s for telling me about such a good cause!
