New Moon Movie Weekend
For the first time in well over four years I found myself sitting in a theater this weekend for New Moon. I was determined to go see the newest movie in the Twilight series of books and I didn’t care that I was going alone. I wasn’t overly impressed with the first movie Twilight, but compared to the books, the movies just cannot possibly do them justice.
I normally have a hard time sitting down and reading much of anything and if I am going to read, it better capture my interest immediately. I blew through the entire Twilight series in just 7 short days. I had stayed away from the first movie for the sake of preserving my dreamy images of all the characters. In Twilight, it took some getting used to staring at characters that didn’t fit into my active imagination. The movie should have been four hours long though and I wouldn’t have cared because they would have been able to include a little more detail. The movie is never as good as the book, with the exception of Gone With The Wind, and you saw how long that was!
Did New Moon change my outlook on the movie? Well, it was definitely better than Twilight, and they left you hanging so you know they will come out with the next movie. I thought it was good for movie representation standards, I still feel like they left too much out. The movie’s portrayal of the Volturi was spot on and I love Alice. There was a good amount of humor presented in this one, and it made the movie a little more likeable. Overall, I would say it was good as the time limit would allow, but tack on another hour and it probably would have made A-list.
I still have the books to read again so I can slip into the awesome world of vampires and the Cullens. My only hope is that Stephenie Meyer writes more! Ok, I admit Edward is growing on me.

I just came back from seeing the movie as well. I liked it (didn’t mind Twilight either) but I just kept waiting for something to happen. It has been almost a year since I read the books so I don’t quite remember all of the details but I think they did a good job with the high points of the book. I am ready for the next movie to come out. I think I’ll like it more (more action).
I agree its like it was good but you kept waiting for a little more oomph! LOL I think the bog limiting factor was time, they might have just been able to get more in there with a little longer movie I think. I think as a bog Twilight fan I would not have minded sitting there staring at Edward and everyone else little longer hehe
http://www.theneatthingsinlife.com/2009/11/new-moon.html my daughter and I seen it last night. Awesome movie. I am so bella/edward.
I’m an addict for the movies and the books. I just love Edward!
I saw it with friends. We are all team jacob, so we wanted edward to get out of the pic asap. Okay, honestly, why are girls crazy over him in this movie? That seen where he is supposed to sparkle in the sun … he is GRAY with rotten pepperoni-looking nipples. LMAO. All about Jacob who looks good from the front and behind. Rippling muscles. Yum!
As for the story, the storyline aggravates me. Bella is more addicted to Edward than in love, IMO. So it is just silly. The only reason I like the series is because my girl friends and I can laugh at a lot of it. LOL.
Bella and Edward (Kristin and Rob) really are not good actors. Actually, most of the cast sucks. Taylor rocks, though. He carries scenes – the whole wolf pack does.
I thought the computer graphics were so-so. I mean, Jurassic Park did better. But the scenes were still action packed when the wolves were out.
The movie is better than the Twilight movie, though. And I will see the third movie too. No matter what, these peeps are getting money out of me.
Oh girl…I would so have been there with you!!! My hubby bought me tickets to go opening night as a birthday gift. Then I had to go and get too sick to go! It so sucked!! I am glad to hear your thoughts on it because I have every intention of going still!!!
I want to see this so bad!
Ohhhhh I cant wait to see this! I’m going (I hope) this week!
