Oompa Toys, (I love the name!) has an endless selection of toys for your special little someone, as well as, lunch boxes and bags for heading back to school!

In my case, my little guys are too little for school, but will be traveling in style to Grandma’s house, play dates, and on trips through the airport with their Dante Beatrix backpacks for toddlers. These Little Kid Backpacks are the absolute cutest ever! The one large interior pouch is perfect for carrying your child’s favorite things, including crayons, snacks or clothes for Grandma’s house. You can choose from Penguin, Bee, Bunny, Shark, Pig, Lion, and Polar Bear ($36). The bags are made of lightweight nylon so it is easy for your little one to carry. You can spot clean with a damp cloth and the back and adjustable shoulder straps are padded.

My two already love their backpacks, and have not wanted to take them off since they have gotten them! They love holding hands an walking together. Another adorable little feature of these backpacks is the little Dante Beatrix tag on the back that says “Eat your Vegetables”…so cute!

Oompa toys has so much more, that I found myself browsing for well over an hour at their site. I will be making my visit there for Christmas shopping this year too. I didn’t think there could be so many wonderful things for kids all in one place!

I would definitely recommend you check out Oompa toys for a cool backpack for back to school, as well as, for a fun shopping experience!

I knew it wasn’t going right when…

Usually, I just wait until my husband gets home to take the boys outside, just because it is easier to keep track of the two of them, and I am not a big fan of being out in the blazing sun. So, I decided to be different, and take them out to play (big mistake number one).
Today is a watering day for the lawn, so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone, get the boys out to play and get the grass watered. So if you can envision this one….I have the sprinkler going not the back and forth kind, but the kind that moves in a circle. I get it going and all is well, and we head to the garage to put up the big boy swings instead of what was up on the swing set. We are happily coming back when Monkey isn’t paying attention and walks right in the line of fire of the sprinkler. I’m trying to get to him without water shooting up my shorts, and he’s flailing about screaming, lost in rapid fire water. So I’m chasing him in the circular path of the water trying to get him out. That was an adventure!
Next, I put up the regular swings instead of their toddler swings. Everyone is happy and excited and they jump on. Im busy getting the toddler swings off the grass and setting them up on the picnic bench (only 3 seconds gone by) and Bubs is standing in front of Monkey and they are both screaming.
They apparently clunked heads because Bubs walked in front of Monkey while he was still swinging. I’m busy telling them they have to be careful! So I turn around they are swinging again and they clunk heads yet again…mind you in like a blink of an eye. After this, well, we headed back indoors…I put them in, went back out to adjust the sprinkler to avoid catastrophe and all is back to normal..I think.
ENOUGH SAID!

A little vent! Literally!

I was in the kitchen cleaning up the lunch mess, when I realized that it was a little quiet in the house for having two toddlers running about. Bubs comes running in talking about blocks. He kept repeating blocks, blocks, blocks! So I was thinking ok, he wants me to open his bin with blocks, so he can play. I go into the play room and there is Monkey with the floor vent open, and all the blocks are missing in action! This has been a constant battle, and they always manage to get the vent off without a peep! You would think it would make a lot of noise.

I have gotten out the trusty vacuum numerous times to snake the hose down the vent to suck up anything I could get. I think I have removed an entire toy box at times, and even had those moments where I say “so that’s where that went!” There are still some lost toys, I can get a pic with my camera, but they are too far to reach..I wonder how you get these things out. If you have a suggestion…please enlighten me! In the meantime, I will be super gluing them to the floor…the vents and not the kids lol!

Aden and Anais…Australian Muslin Baby Wraps

I just recently got the privilege of reviewing a product that, I wished that I had when I brought the boys home from the hospital. Both of my lil guys were preemies and loved to be swaddled up snugly in their blankets, but we could never keep the regular blankets on them.

Aden and Anais are Australian mothers who moved here to the United States and were in search of the muslin wraps that are a staple in Australia, amongst new mothers. There was nothing here in the U.S. that was big enough and breathable enough to securely swaddle a baby. So they decided to make their own.

The muslin isn’t a heavy, and is a soft, lightweight material, which allows for airflow and prevents your baby from overheating. The wraps can be used not only for swaddling but as a cover for you and your baby while nursing in public, a shade cover for your stroller, or even a blanket to put down while you are at the park, or just as an area to play on.

If you are expecting a little bundle of joy, why not bundle them in a wonderful muslin baby wrap from Aden and Anais? Their wraps come in packages of 2 for ($29.95) or 4 for ($44).

Jack and Ozzy Clothing for Boys

I am always on the lookout for clothes for boys. It seems as if the clothing racks at the stores are mostly occupied by girls clothing, which pretty much makes your choices limited. I think boys clothes are just as cute and I think they should make more of them!

While I was out browsing for some clothes for the boys, I ran across Jack and Ozzy. They are a small Santa Barbara company consisting of Moms of all boys! They make cool shirts for your special little guy. All of their shirts designs are hand drawn and then screen printed on shirts made here in the U.S. Their designs are simple and not obnoxious, and carry the right amount of the fashionable, cool/hip factor. I like the fact that they are versatile too…all their shirts can be easily matched with a wide variety of things in your child’s wardrobe.  Each shirt is 100% cotton and wash up nicely!

If you are looking for fun shirts with flair for your little guy …just check out Jack and Ozzy!

Haircuts today!

When the boys needed their first haircuts, I decided to be brave and try it myself. Up until now, I have just been using the scissors and have become pretty good at it, but it was so time consuming; and with wiggle worms it can get a bit tricky! So I thought I would be adventurous, and use the clippers this time around. I must say that I did a really good job for my first time using the clippers on the boys, and it took me half the time to get the same result. Bubs saw Monkey and kept saying haircut, because he wanted me to use the clippers on him LOL! I am sure the novelty of it will wear off, but I will go with it for now.

On a flip note….Monkey’s face is finally starting to heal, albeit very slow. I hope that the stuff doesn’t come back!

Here are pics of their new dos!

Zosephine Diaper Bags…carry stuff for baby in style

I just recently received a Zosephine diaper bag, the exact one that was gifted to Angelina Jolie!

Finding diaper bags that accommodate all your baby’s essentials but look discreet and stylish are sometimes hard to find. Often times the bags that are available, seem to be lacking in the style department. Bags with cutsie bunnies, obnoxious color schemes, and bags that are way over sized just seem less than appealing this day in age. I know as a mom, I look for things that are practical, functional, and have a little bit of flare. I love being a mom, but that doesn’t mean I have to be unfashionable.

Zosephine diaper bags have modern styling and hold everything you need for baby and then some. Each bag is constructed with an easy to clean nylon lining, has plenty of pockets, key clip, and a nylon changing pad. My favorite feature, is the cell phone pocket which is easily accessible just under the flap. The back of the bag even has a place to put a favorite book.

I love the small swatch of fabric on the front of the bag, it gives the bag subtle interest and is pleasing to the eye. The shoulder strap is nice and wide and sits comfortably on your shoulder, another must, when you are running around with little ones. I love everything about this bag, and can see myself using it well after the diapering days.

Check out Zosephine diaper bags and show off your hip mama side.

Nowali…It’s a moccasin and a sock!

I just recently ran across Nowali socks/moccasins. When it is particularly cool in the house or during the winter months I am always in search of slippers for the boys. Most of the slippers I have run across are either too big and bulky or fall off their feet.

We have mostly hardwood floors in the house, so if I just put on regular socks, someone undoubtedly would slip and fall. I needed something that is a happy medium that wouldn’t get in the way of their little feet, and afford them some traction.

I ran across Nowali Moccasin/Socks and they are absolutely wonderful and fit the bill perfectly. They are basically socks that are moccasins. Nowali Moccasins are made in Sweden, have soft leather soles so their little feet can move freely, double elastic at the ankle keeps them in place, and the bottoms are non-skid, and you can toss them in the washing machine! They come in a bunch of adorable prints and patterns, so you have lots to choose from. These are a perfect stocking stuffer or baby gift not only practical but unique and affordable.
