I am not sure who gets more excited me or the boys, but we are heading out for Trick-or-Treat tomorrow! I think the boys are going to be into this year and have been practicing saying “Trick-or-Treat!” I bet when the time comes they will act like the cat has their tongue. I know they are going to love all the candy!
Briarpatch joins Thomas and Friends

Briarpatch has unveiled its first Thomas and Friends game! I know my boys just love playing with all their little Thomas trains and saying “allll aboard!” when they move them along the track. I was delighted to see that there is now a game that they can actually play. They are both at a stage where they are getting really involved with counting, focusing on one thing for longer periods of time, and just really interactive with things.
The game is designed for children ages three and up so my two are just about at the perfect age for the
game. Not only that, it is so nice to get together as a family around the table and just interact with the boys. I think this is of major importance, especially this day in age, when families are always on the go.
We took the game out of the box and Bubs the younger of my twins was like “OHHHH WOW.” He is always saying this whenever there is something new to look at. It is so cute how his face lights up. Both of them recognized the characters right away and were ohhhing and ahhing over Thomas. Both my husband and I sat with them to play the game. Each of them are learning to count, so this game was fun and helped that along. They are still a little young, when it comes to board games but I think this is a terrific start! If anything, it teaches them the basics of following directions, counting and taking turns.
The Thomas and Friends Great Race Game retails for $24.99. This would make a really great gift for a Thomas fan this holiday season! Doublebugs would like to give its readers the chance to win a Thomas Great Race game for your special little someone!THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ENTERED!
Off for more apples!!

Well tomorrow I am off to pick more apples. This time they are the Fuji apples, which are some of the best apples you can get. It is supposed to rain this weekend so I need to get my apple picking in. I mostly enjoy just being in the outdoors and wandering through the orchard. It will be a cold one, but I am excited, this is definitely goin gto be a future family tradition!!
Back with Apples, apples, and more apples!

Ok so we went apples picking and we decided on a 20lb bag of apples to pick. The boys had a lot of fun and I loved meandering through the apple orchard and finding the perfect apples. Bubs took a bite of a rotten apple before we could stop him, so I think it turned him off to the whole apple eating thing. Once they got the hang of it, they were picking all sorts of apples, faster than me and my husband could look at them lol!
Now I have 20 lbs of apples, and I figured I would be industrious in the kitchen, and make some apple pies and homemade applesauce, neither of which I have a clue on how to make really. I love to cook but I have never actually made an apple pie. I have made “pie like” dishes but never an actual fruit pie. So I have passed by this huge bag of apples like 30 times, and I have decided that I will attempt to make a pie. My dear husband has requested an apple pie with no apple chunks of any kind. He has some weird texture issue (*rolls eyes*). So how do I make an “applesauce” pie…I guess you would call it that? To me you might as well slap some Musselman’s in a pie crust and heat it up. He doesn’t know what hes missing….a piece of warm apple pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream yum!
So If anyone has any suggestions for a mush apple pie…please enlighten me. I will be keeping you posted with my apple endeavor. I intend on making a few pies and some applesauce.
Weekend Fun…Apples and Pumpkins

It has been many years since I have gone apple picking or even gone to a pumpkin patch. We will be taking the boys this weekend to pick out pumpkins for the family and to do a little apple picking. We have told them that we are going to get pumpkins so they are really excited about it. Monkey is most excited about taking a hay ride with the tractor. He is so in love with things like tractors, bulldozers, and type of machinery. He cried when he had to go to bed, he was already going to find his shoes after bath to go to the pumpkin path LOL! I am looking forward to a wonderful day and just watching the boys get all excited about picking out their pumpkins and “reaching high like daddy” to pick apples. I will surely get lots of pictures!

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED
Thank you to all who entered!!!
Both of my boys received their first set of legos for their birthday and they love playing with them. They love to try and figure out how to stick them on top of each other. I like to get fancy and build little archways for them to drive their cars through. They are great for developing thier spatial, cognitive and perception skills. Legos have been around since I was a child and that is a long time (wont elaborate on how long that is!). This day in age the things you can do with legos has grown beyond my imagination. With the upcoming holidays I am sure there is a little guy or gal on your list that would love to have them!
DoubleBugs would like to give you the opportunity to let your little one build their dreams with a $10 Lego gift card!`

My boys love to go with my husband in the wagon up to the schools playground, so I usually take advantage of this time to get a few things done. So I ran to get a little shopping done and on my way home I stopped at the playground. My husband tells me that Monkey is “soupy man” and at first it didn’t register that he was saying he is Superman lol! My husband was grabbing him and flying him off the jungle gym and saying he was Superman and Monkey says he is “Soupy Man”….so cute. I guess I need to get my little superhero a cape!
Picture taking weekend

Well, it was a picture taking weekend for me and the boys. I did my first photo session outside of my home and I think I did pretty well. I still have a lot to learn, but I captured some good images over the weekend and hopefully I will get them up here sometime in the next few days.
The boys had their first experience with the ice cream truck which was fun. It brought back so many memories of my childhood. I wanted to get a frozen toe ice cream, which I loved as a kid, but unfortunately they were out of them. I took lots of pictures of the boys enjoying their bomb pops which seemed to have grown in size over the years! These things were huge! They, of course, made an enormous mess of the things, but that’s part of the fun! It gives me so much enjoyment just to watch these two growing up, and not only that you sort of get to experience being a kid again. I can’t wait for that ice cream truck to come back down the street 🙂
We went to the Wiggles

Wednesday we took the boys to see the Wiggles. My husband wasn’t all too thrilled to be going but the boys really enjoyed it. We had the greatest seat ever and I wanted to take pictures and I brought my camera, but forgot my memory card in the card reader at home UGH! Monkey, got a little antsy about 30 minutes into the show but Bubs, on the other hand, loved it! When the Wiggles came out in their “big red car” , the look on their faces was so cute! The both were grinning from ear to ear and they were captivated. We had so much fun and I hope to take them again next year. The next morning they both woke up talking about the “waggles” as they call them LOL. So cute!
Little rascals can be soo charming!

Well I thought I would share a new funny thing that Monkey is doing. This is a prime example of just how smart your toddler can be LOL. Whenever Monkey is busy doing something that he isn’t supposed to be, he has figured out a way in his mind to pretend he isn’t doing anything. If you call his name in that parental tone, or ask him what he is doing, he will quickly say “Hi!” and squint his little eyes and give you this cheesy grin. He has already figured out how to manipulate the situation in his little mind. Sometimes it makes it very hard for me to maintain a straight face because it is so incredibly funny to me. He is such a little stinker and ohh so smart! I keep telling my husband that we are gonna be in trouble. It will be Monkey thinking up all the things to do, and he will be sending his brother Bubs to do them all. It is soo funny how different the two of them are. Double trouble indeed!
