Mommy Messed It Up

Well, we had a busy day today.  The plan was to get some yard work done, a little grocery shopping, last minute Easter shopping and then head to an even at the zoo.

The boys were very excited about the zoo and we talked about it all day.  I was already tired from mowing the lawn and going to the store.  I have been sick off an on with some nasty cold/virus type stuff, but was looking forward to going.  It was a little chilly weather wise but overall a beautiful day, and next week we have a chance of snow ugh!

So we head out for the zoo, and when we pull up everyone is leaving and no one is goin gin.  So im like well I thought the thing was today.  So dear husband went and checked and it is next weekend!  The boys were in tears and I felt like poo because I messed up the dates.  Not only that we missed an egg hunt this morning because I had that date mixed up with the zoo thing!  I felt bad, but jelly beans and a trip to a new playground made their day.  They both got their baths, and went to bed and fell asleep in five minutes.  I still feel awful.  I swear somedays I don’t know where my brain has gone to.  I’ll get it right next week!

ER Season Finale

April 3, 2009 by

Last night had to be one of the saddest nights for me. I have been watching ER since the very first episode and I simply loved the show. In fact it was the only show I actually looked forward to seeing every Thursday night. Well, I would actually watch it on Friday afternoon during the boys’ nap. I can’t believe it is over with, and I so hope that they bring all these characters back in an even better show, otherwise I am going to have to start with season one again.

I live a bit of a sheltered life when it comes to television. Since having the boys I watch a whole lot less, so I really live under a rock. I am not sure if there is even a show that compares to ER.
What am I going to do to get my fix? I am so sad!

Pillsbury Bake Off Means Time To Get Creative

Are you a creative mastermind in the kitchen?  Have you surprised yourself when you accidentally combined a few extra ingredients?  Well now is your time to shine and who couldn’t  use, ohhh let’s say, one million dollars? Pillsbury is giving you that chance.

Pillbury Bake Off History

In 1949, the Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest began as the “Grand National Recipe and Baking Contest,” set in the elegance of New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. To celebrate Pillsbury’s 80th birthday, executives at the company’s advertising agency created the contest and invited homemakers to share their treasured recipes. Response was so great that Pillsbury decided to hold it again the following year, and the year after that, until it became an institution.

A New Name is Coined
Almost immediately, the media dubbed the Grand National the “Bake-Off®” Contest. The name fit so well that Pillsbury adopted it as the contest’s official name. And the rest is history–60 years of American cooking and baking.

This is last years winner

Pillsbury is looking for original recipes that taste and look delicious, are easy to prepare and that families across America will love to eat. There are four recipe categories – Breakfast & Brunches, Entertaining Appetizers, Dinner Made Easy and Sweet Treats.

It’s time to get creative in the kitchen for your chance at a million! One hundred finalists will win a trip to the finals, April 11 – 13, 2010, at the Waldorf-Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek hotel in Florida.

Entries are being accepted online between now and April 20th, 2009, at www.bakeoff.com. You’ll also find contest details, including eligible products, prizes and the official rules, at the web site.

If you are a blogger (Hi my name is Laurie and I Blog) then you know how much time you spend in front of the computer. I am surprised that my eyes don’t have a permanent picture of my computer screen glowing in them. I got a big chuckle out of this, because I sheepishly admit that I do tend to sit in front of my computer blogging.  Well it is my second life.  Check it out, too funny!

This weeks topic is 6 things I would do naked if I lived alone.

  1. I would probably Sleep Naked
  2. Do Housework although I am not sure about all types of housework
  3. Swim naked if I had a pool and complete privacy
  4. Dance
  5. Watch TV

This week was tough, not too much I would want to do in the buff

Tonight, I spent a good deal of time doing research on what fish oil is the best to buy.  I am about to embark on a healthy eating dtreak and since I hate fish of any kind, I am looking to supplement.

Here my thoughts for tonight”

I am going to have to give up brownies, this sucks.  Well I don’t have to give them up completely.

I need to organize my office!

I need to go to Whole Foods tomorrow.

Maybe I should sleep in. Sleep in?  What’s that?

I really want to get my garden ready, blach I am too tired

I still need to stop biting my nails!

There are thin mints in the pantry, how the hell am I going to diet with those in there?

I wish I had a maid, well and a cook, and a gardner.

Oh I have to finish a review, well I need to finish three this weekend.

Wonder what Blogher will be like.

I really need to turn my brain off when I’m trying to relax in the tub!
