My husband loves the German Spaghetti that I make, so I thought I would share it with you all. This dish is basically a layered spaghetti dish, that is great for a summer meal, but we make it a lot in our house. I typically use 1 lb of spaghetti and double the meat sauce.
German Spaghetti
1 Tbs oil
1 medium onion (chopped)
1/4 lb of ham (chopped in cubes)
1 lb of ground beef
1-3 beef boullion cubes (dissolved in 1/2 cup of water)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 small can of mushrooms
1/2 tsp of italian seasoning
1 Tbs worstershire sauce
1 lb of spaghetti cooked
1/2 lb of grated swiss cheese
-Brown onion and garlic in oil for 10 minutes. Brown ground beef and drain off fat, add ham.
-Add all other ingredients, except cheese and spaghetti, and simmer for 30-45min.
-Layer several times in the following order: Spaghetti, meat mixture, and cheese till all ingredients are used, cover the dish and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes.
I usually serve it with a fresh garden salad, some garlic bread, and make a fresh fruit salad. ENJOY!

Well, we got a beautiful day for the blooms and butterflies exhibit! The butterflies were stunning, although there were several space hogs at the exhibit grrrr! Apparently, if you dont have a six foot lens like these folks did, you weren’t worthy of occupying space LOL! If you all can envision me standing there patiently waiting for a shot..I see a butterfly and these weirdos notice I have a good shot, and they slowly stalk and encroach on my turf HA HA! I was a little spooked by these individuals…Im like there are 50 other locations in this space…get your own leaf man! Anyway, here are some of the pictures I got, I also included the glass sculpture that was in the conservatory…very cool!

This is a cool and fun thing to try! My mind is blue!

Your Mind is Blue |
![]() Of all the mind types, yours is the most mellow. You tend to be in a meditative state most of the time. You don’t try to think away your troubles. Your thoughts are realistic, fresh, and honest. You truly see things as how they are. You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about your friends, your surroundings, and your life. |

Saving Money at the Grocery

If you are a Mom you know that there is almost always a visit to the grocery store in your near future!
I thought that I would just give you some of the things that I do to save money and welcome any other tips that anyone can offer!
-I almost always check the stores weekly ads to see what I can stock up on.
–Coupons, coupons, coupons! You would be surprised at how much you can save on things in the store with coupons. You can find manufacturers coupons at their product website, along with the coupons from your local newspaper. Some places even offer to clip for you. One place in particular is The Coupon Clippers. Sometimes my local grocery offers super doubles where coupons up to 1.00 in value are doubled!
–Stock up! I always stock up on the non parishable things like bottled juices, canned goods, and dry goods that I know will keep. This helps limit your visits to the store and discourages all the unnecessary buying that comes with frequent trips! Bread freezes well, and if you love milk like our family does…I always buy enough for 10 days. Also fresh frozen fruits are a good alternative when you run out of the fresh stuff. It always helps to extend supply.
–The freezer is your friend! The freezer is a great tool for limiting grocery trips. If you happen to hit a good stock up sale. You can make meals ahead of time that freeze well. Also if you can swing an extra freezer for the basement you can store alot of things in there! It’s useful when meat is on sale!
–Make a list: And stick to it! It is ever so tempting to wander in the grocery and just buy, but if you have a strict agenda..then you can get in and get out and your pocket book will thank you!

I will be sure to take lots of pictures! I get cotton candy!!! Woohooo!
What if you could remember everything?

Over the weekend my husband had recorded a story about a woman who remembers every day of her life. Could you imagine remembering everything? I guess that could be a blessing and a curse. Being a Mom I find myself trying to remember all the little things the boys did when they were very little but often have a hard time even remembering all the details about that. In case you haven’t heard about this lady….here is the link to the story. It is really quite impressive if you think about it!
Food Ideas For Toddlers

As a stay at home Mom I am busy preparing 3 full meals a day and snacks pretty much 7 days a week. After awhile as you can imagine I get bored, as well as, the boys. It’s hard to come up with new ideas when you don’t have alot of time and meals need to be nutritious and fairly fast for impatient little ones. I thought that I would share some of the things that my boys like to eat but are fairly simple to prepare.
As a rule of thumb I always try to offer them fresh fruit for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I also offer the boys snacks and drink throughout the day.
-My boys love berries of every kind! Raspberries, Blackberries, and Strawberries (sliced) make colorful additions to meals and also make great snacks. I also buy these fruits dried and pack them if we go out. Brother’s All Natural is one of the brands that I buy. If fruits aren’t in season I will look at buying them frozen.
-For vegetables I make a lot of the Birdseye Steamfresh Veggies! I love these things because they are easy to prepare. The boys love the broccoli florets from them (sprinkled with a little garlic powder salt, pepper, and a touch of butter). I always try and make it appetizing for them. Usually a bag of broccoli will make it through two meals so I always have a vegetable at the ready for meals.
-For the main part of the meal I offer the boys all sorts of things. For example I give them meatballs, or chicken tenders, they love pasta of any kind. I like to make them mac and cheese and I throw in a little extra cheese for the calcium as my boys aren’t huge milk drinkers. We are working on using our forks so anything that is “fork friendly” works well for them! Grilled ham and cheese is a favorite and I slice it up in little squares. Monkey is my salad eater, so he loves that with ranch dressing. Also they are at a stage where they like to dip their food in ketchup etc. So this allows for interesting taste and can make ordinary foods taste different.
-For breakfasts we do scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon sometimes, they love sausage. My husband brought home some organic toater pastries and they loves those, I use Bisquick to make mini belgian waffles and this will last me two days or I can make the whole batch and freeze them. Also to change it up you can ass blueberries or bananas to them.
-If I give them juice I always water it down..they get the taste without all the unnecessary sugar.
I almost never omit junk foods, its always a treat for them to get something fun. I think that is part of being a kid. My two love getting the freezer pops. Just as long as you don’t over do it and offer them a variety…they will have healthy eating habits.
